Down and out in Miami-Dade County Florida?  Well good news.  One of the largest cities in that county was just named the least charitable in America.  That would be Hialeah.  I'm having trouble understanding this, as they will gladly give you a free kick in in A__.  Further, it's not uncommon for cities in Miami-Dade County to simply arrest the needy, the homeless, and send them for a free meal at the Miami-Dade County Jail.  Free lodgings as well.

RUNNING A STATE IS A LOT LIKE RUNNING A BUSINESS, JUST ASK FLORIDA GOVERNOR RICK SCOTT

Running a state is a lot like running a business.  Just ask Florida's Governor Rick Scott.  During the 1990's, Scott ran a hospital chain, Columbia/HCA.  As president of the chain, he knew all about the cost of doing business.  Two billion dollars to be exact.  That was the fine that the government collected for the largest Medicare Fraud in history.

Columbia/HCA kept two sets of books.  One set for legitimate claims and the other for fraudulent claims.  This, so that they could keep enough money in reserve to pay for any fines or penalties should they be caught by the government.  Scott's business acumen allowed him to figure these things out.

Scott was given a "golden parachute" after being fired from Columbia/HCA.  Ten million dollars in cash, three hundred million in stock, and a one million dollar a year job as consultant.

Scott is now Governor of Florida.  Isn't it great how the cream always rises to the top.  And what about Florida?  It is the number one state in the country with regard to insurance fraud.  Yes,  running a state is a lot like running a business.

IF YOU ARE A WITCH, YOU BETTER BEWARE! MIAMI RESIDENTS WILL DEFEND THEMSELVES WITH DEADLY FORCE

If you plan on practicing witchcraft in Miami, you better beware.  Miami-Dade County residents will defend themselves with deadly force.  So you better go away.  Go away witch, go away and never come back!

Hialeah resident Pedro Vargas is a fine example of  what makes Miami-Dade County a safe place to live.  He knew that someone was practicing witchcraft on him.  So he got his gun, killed the husband and wife who managed his apartment complex, as well as a family of three he encountered.  He also killed a man returning from his son's boxing practice.

None of these six individuals will EVER practice witchcraft again!  Without people like Mr. Vargas,   Miami would be full of witches and other evil beings, casting spells and doing unspeakable things.   Yes, Mr. Vargas, Miami-Dade County owes you it's thanks.

IMPORTANT THAT BODY BE SECURED WHEN TRANSPORTING MIAMI MURDER VICTIM

Today's blog is all about transporting dead bodies in Miami.  When placing a body in the back of your truck, it is important that the body be well secured.   Whatever you do, don't make the mistake that these people made and have the victim roll out of the back of your truck.  How Embarrassing.

Tips are flowing in from Miami professional killers who know the importance of the proper use of tie downs.   This includes the use of bungee cords, assuming the cords are taut, and heavy rope/twine, in order to secure the victim.

It is hard to believe that people in Miami, with all the experience they have in disposing of murder victims, would make this kind of amateur mistake.

COME TO AMERICA AND FIND THE AMERICAN DREAM

Today's blog is all about finding the America dream.  Antonio Feliu, recent Cuban immigrant, found the American dream.  In a short time, he had his apartment, a thriving marijuana lab, complete with free electricity, and a girlfriend!

God Bless America.  God Bless Freedom.  God Bless everyone's right to own a gun, including recent immigrants who just show up and are automatically welcomed here.  No background checks needed, just show up in America and you have your own marijuana lab, free electricity and a gun.

If you don't like your girlfriend, the gun can come in handy.   It did for Mr. Feliu, who killed three people then himself.  Yes, he came to this country and lived out his dreams.  Gosh, it's wonderful to contribute to America and Freedom!

BUTT INJECTIONS. MEDICAL NEEDS ARE WELL PROVIDED FOR IN MIAMI.

Today's blog is all about medical needs.  In Miami, ones needs are well provided for.  Why you can find "doctors" almost anywhere.  Although you wouldn't know it, sometimes your hairdresser in Miami is also a doctor.  Sometimes your neighbor is performing dentistry in his garage.  If you ask around, you can find skilled practitioners of the medical arts almost anywhere.

There's a story about this one lady who sought out a doctor for "Butt Injections."  The highly skilled practitioner she found used "fix a flat" "super glue" and "cement" to augment the patient's rear end.  As someone doesn't know that much about medicine, I'm in awe of someone who can perform miracles with a knife and some common household products.

Oddly, however, the patient was unhappy with the procedure.  She sought out so called "real" doctors at a local hospital to complain.  Now, sadly, she is dead.   Maybe she shouldn't have sought out those  "real" doctors, as she was apparently okay when she left the clinic.  Maybe the "real" doctors did something bad to her.

In Miami it's nice to know that skilled practitioners of the medical art are just about everywhere.  Medical care is just around the corner.

HERPES INFECTED MONKEYS INVADE FLORIDA

http://news.yahoo.com/herpes-infected-monkeys-invade-florida-153637867.html

Typically it's not that hard to find a subject to blog about, particularly in relation to Miami and the State of Florida in General.  Today's blog is about herpes infected monkeys that are running loose all over the state.   These dangerous animals spread deadly disease to humans as well as other animals.

Diseases such as encephalomyelitis, "an inflammation of the brain and spinal cord leading to death."  But when it comes to South Florida and Miami in particular, other animals could have been mentioned as well.

Poisonous bullfrogs which escaped from a packing crate at the Miami International Airport. When eaten by other animals, such as dogs, the dogs die a painful death, white foam emanating from their mouths.

Large pythons, which not only strangle other animals, but humans as well.   Chinese water snakes
which kill the local freshwater fish.  Large lizards, including iguanas that are both vicious as well as dangerous toward other animals.  The list goes on and on.

In Miami, it's pretty clear that people there aren't the only ones who are "dangerous and out of control."

"TORSO" BY FERNANDO BOTERO, ART? OR A MARKER INDICATING WHERE TO DUMP THE REMAINS OF MIAMI MURDER VICTIMS?

Bayfront Park is a 32 acre public park on the banks of Biscayne Bay, Miami, Fla.  This park is home to a sculpture by the famous artist Fernando Botero.  It was placed there a few years back.  This was around the same time people began discovering headless, legless and armless bodies, floating in the nearby bay.  The prevalence of these findings has greatly increased since the statues placement.

Was this a coincidence, or was this 'functional art?'   Art, which is capable of multiple interpretations, can clearly have more than one purpose.  It can be aesthetically pleasing as well as useful.  One could argue that this statue, at least from a Miami perspective, is more than just a celebration of the human body.  Perhaps it is an indicator of where to dump human remains?

Yes, in Miami art takes on an entirely different meaning.

AN INCORRUPTIBLE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY JURIST

Ellen Morphonios, also known as "Maximum Morphonios," was a no nonsense judge.  Known for her long sentences and her good looks, having been a beauty queen in her early years, she took a harsh approach toward those convicted of criminal acts in her court.

They even did a segment on 60 Minutes featuring this tough no nonsense jurist.  In a town otherwise known for its corruption, it was refreshing to know that "Lady Ellen" stood high and above the dishonesty that plagued the criminal justice system in Miami, particularly in the early 90's.

It had been uncovered that several state court judges had been taking bribes from dishonest lawyers, who wanted these judges to be lenient toward their criminal clients.  Drug dealers, hit men, etc., were released from jail on bond in return for cash payments to these dishonest judges.  "Operation Court Broom" resulted in the arrest and prosecution of judges and lawyers who were involved.

When offered a bribe by the late Raymond Takiff, a lawyer who had been caught and was now wired for sound, Lady Ellen stood up for honesty and integrity.  Her response,  "I don't do that anymore."

How refreshing to know that justice in Miami had at least one incorruptible individual who stood up for truth and decency.

Ellen set an example for others holding public office in Miami.  Many still admire her.
With Ellen Morphonios's passing from cancer in December of 2002, some believed that the last incorruptible Miami-Dade County public official had passed on.

FUNDING NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE BY STOPPING MEDICARE FRAUD IN MIAMI

Todays blog is all about funding National Health Insurance.

In our continuing effort to keep you abreast of all things Miami, here is some current news.

A Miami "actor" and his wife have admitted guilt in a fifteen million dollar Medicare rip off.

They had a "home healthcare" business and were supposedly providing nursing services.  Billing the government for these nonexistent services, they plowed the profits into  "Cuban cultural programs" on cable television.

Recently it has been reported that merely stopping the Medicare fraud in Miami alone, will provide enough money to fund the entire National Health Insurance program.

Recently it was also reported that many of those under investigation have fled to Cuba.  Cuba of all places.

In Miami, it is encouraging to know that hard working people are doing what they can to make a living.  Contributing to society and realizing the American dream.

FINDING MIAMI'S HISTORIC ARCHITECTURAL TREASURES,TAKE ALONG A SHOVEL

If you want to discover Miami's historic architectural treasures, better take along a shovel.  A great example is the historic and grand Royal Palm hotel that used to grace downtown Miami where the Miami River meets the bay.

A large and wonderful wooden structure, it suffered damage at the hands of the 26 Hurricane and was never rebuilt.  No effort was made.  Now archaeologists dig at the site the hotel once occupied and hunt for clues of its very existence.  Discoveries such as old room keys end up local museums.

Old historic structures in other towns are what make the towns.  A great example of this is the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego.

The pride of the San Diego community, it is an historic wooden hotel from the 1890's.  Very few buildings in Miami are left that evoke such images of the grand past.

What's worse is that in Miami, old architectural gems are routinely torn down and replaced with worthless junk.  All to please some money hungry developer whose sole interest is in the quick generation of cash.

There is no evidence of past history.  No civic pride, and No-one fights to preserve the past.  What is left is a heartless city, a city with no soul.   A city without a past is a city without a future.

One of the few old structures left in Miami is the old 2nd Ave. cemetery.  This is appropriate because whatever is old and historic in the city has pretty much died.

WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN, PRINCIPLES UNKNOWN OR DISREGARDED IN MIAMI

Todays blog is about gravity.  A basic principle of gravity is one that goes as follows:  "What goes up must come down."  Taking this rule further, lets analyze what happens when an individual, standing on the planet Earth, specifically in the City of Miami, fires a gun into the air.

Unless the bullet is traveling fast enough to escape the Earth's gravitational pull, it will fall back to the ground.   Not only that, it will fall to the ground with enough speed to kill, maim or otherwise injure anyone it may hit on the way down.

Every New Year's Eve and Every Fourth of July in Miami, some individual, or frequently many individuals, will fire their weapons into the air.  This, as crowds of people, including women and children, are gathered at festivals.

Even the police know that being outside on New Year's Eve in Miami is an invitation to suicide.   Despite public pleas from law enforcement and others, someone is always killed, maimed or grievously injured.  This, by individuals who think that it's "fun" to shoot bullets into the air.

In Miami, the principle of gravity applies just like everywhere else.  But "fun" has taken on an entirely different meaning.  The message that these shooters give is crystal clear.  "Oh what fun to see a stranger injured, Oh what Miami fun!"

"CATCH AND RELEASE" FISHING IN MIAMI DADE COUNTY, MORE THAN HUMANE, IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE

Today's blog is all about "catch and release" fishing in Miami-Dade County waters.  More than humane, it may save your life.  Key is to remember never to eat any fish caught in either fresh water canals or the salt water of Biscayne Bay.

First let me start with the fresh water canals that proliferate in Miami-Dade County.  They used to be clean and clear.  Now they are an inky black.  Oil slicks can be seen floating on top of the water.   This is due to the many stolen cars that are dumped into these canals on a daily basis.

Many a residence in Miami will have an illegal septic system that will dump sewage directly into these same canals where people fish.  The many businesses surrounding the waters do little or nothing to obey the disposal laws.  Toxic sludge is routinely dumped into these local waters.   If you do catch a live fish, typically it will have three eyes or some other anomaly.  Often, a Chinese water snake will have attached itself to the poor suffering and diseased fish.  Typically the fish will die an agonizing death. The same death may await you if you eat it.

Key to the salt water issue is something called the Virginia Key Sewage Treatment Plant.  Due to the millions and millions of people that now populate the small spit of land know as Miami-Dade County, the plant cannot handle tons of sewage that are sent in its direction.   As a result, untreated sewage is routinely dumped into Biscayne Bay.

It is safe to say that eating fish caught in Biscayne Bay is somewhat similar to eating a fish that one has caught in their toilet.  Whatever you catch, throw it back.  And remember to wear gloves.  When you get home, scrub yourself and your boat down.  Have plenty of antiseptic, and make sure that you've had your necessary flu shots, etc.  Catch and release in Miami-Dade County is more than just humane, it is a necessary act that may very well save your life.

BOOMSDAY, KNOXVLLE TN. GREAT TIME, NO-ONE SHOT OR KILLED

Had a great time at yesterday's
BOOMSDAY Labor Day fireworks show in Knoxville Tn.

Unlike virtually every public event that occurs in Miami, no one was shot, no one was stabbed.  There were no gang turf wars, and no one shot a gun into the air to see who the bullet would kill when it fell out of the sky.
