When the federal government offered Florida 2.4 Billion dollars in money to help finance a high speed rail system from Miami to Orlando, Governor Scott knew exactly what to do. He rejected it. Why it's a "boondoggle." he said.
Boy is he smart. I mean, the idea of cleaner air and smarter transportation and economic development for Floridians can't be something Florida could use, could it? Of course not. I mean, when gas stations are selling gas for almost four dollars a gallon, why take that money away from the retailers? And what about the oil producers? You can't take money away from them, can you?
And what about the environmental benefits of this system, and the fact that this would help the environment? Scott knows that global warming is probably a hoax perpetrated by communist scientists who want to pull the wool over all our eyes. Boy is he smart.
And what about the 23,000 jobs it would have created? Well you don't need jobs if you're dying from cancer created by all the pollution from the cars. See it all fits.
Thanks you Governor Scott for thinking about all the fine folks in Florida, protecting them from clean air, economic development and jobs.
